Detailed information

VBRA Commercial

The Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association (VBRA Commercial) represents and supports businesses across the UK’s commercial vehicle repair and body building sectors.

Our members range from independent commercial vehicle repairers and specialist body builders to larger corporate businesses, providing a collective voice for an industry that plays a vital role in keeping the UK’s commercial vehicle fleet safely on the road.

VBRA Commercial works closely with industry stakeholders, vehicle manufacturers, insurers, fleet operators, regulators and organisations including the DVSA to address the challenges facing the sector and help shape its future. Through our committees and industry engagement, we provide members with a platform to raise concerns, influence change and contribute to the development of standards and best practice.

A key part of our offering is the VBRA Elite Truck & Van Standard, developed specifically for commercial vehicle repair businesses. The standard provides a recognised framework for demonstrating the competence, capability, equipment and processes required to undertake high-quality commercial vehicle repairs, including structural repairs. It also recognises the growing importance of specialist areas such as electric vehicles (EV), ADAS and technician competence.

The Elite Truck & Van Standard gives repairers a clear route to demonstrate their capability and provides fleets, work providers and customers with greater confidence that repairs are being undertaken by appropriately equipped and competent businesses.

VBRA Commercial is also committed to developing the skills and talent needed for the future. We are working with our Body Builder Committee and industry partners to address skills shortages, support apprenticeships and create clearer career pathways for the next generation entering the commercial vehicle body building and repair sectors.

Whether you are a commercial vehicle repairer, body builder, manufacturer or supplier, VBRA provides representation, technical support, industry insight and opportunities to engage with businesses across the sector.

Our aim is simple: to strengthen the commercial vehicle industry, raise standards, develop skills and give our members a stronger voice.
